Table Friday (3/23) + Good Friday, Easter, etc.

Friends -

This Friday, Table is just a shared meal (bring whatever food/beverage you want to share) at our house - a neighborhood meal at 6 pm.  So, if you're a neighbor (or "honorary neighbor" [a friend]) come on over.  Please let us know by noon on Friday if you're coming.

Sunday is the women's book club at 9:30 at Starbucks followed by Sunday morning liturgy from 11-12 at our house (Buehrles).  Anybody have any palm branches as we look at Jesus' entry into Jerusalem for Palm Sunday?

We (the Buehrles) are going to North Carolina from Good Friday until Sunday, April 8th.  While gone, I intend to put together some plans for some Thursday evening gatherings for those who want to delve deeper into what it looks like to shape our lives around the Gospel.  Super nebulous, eh? It's not to tack on another meeting, but to provide additional spaces to explore how to "translate the meaning of the liturgy [the prayers we pray together, the songs we sing, the words we read, etc.] into life," as nun Maria Skobtsova puts it in this morning's reading from the "Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals.  I want those who come to the Table to walk in the confidence of God's love and out of that confidence to live in confidence with others seeking the Kingdom where justice, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit are together priority #1.  So, stay tuned and feel free to offer input on the kinds of things you've found helpful in growth groups you've been involved in.

One last thing:  We aren't doing a Good Friday service, but I commend three gatherings to you (some may chime in with others they have found fruitful):  1.) Good Friday service led by David Van Hal (who did our Ash Wednesday service) at Renew Communties in Berea (www.renewcommunities.com), 2.) Sunday Service(s) at Renew Communities, and/or 3.) Stations of the Cross (on Good Friday) at St. Christopher's in Rocky River.  A lot of churches do Stations of the Cross, but that's the one I've been to and enjoyed.

May God's Kingdom justice, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit extend to you all today and this week!
