Three Table Gatherings (Friday, 11/10 & Sunday, 11/12)

Hey Friends!

Three gatherings this week spilling into Sunday:

1.) We've decided to do International Food Night every second Friday of the month at 6 pm at our house.  Please RSVP by noon so we know who's coming.  This is just a meal, not the children's lesson and prayer.  Bring your flan, your pho, or your favorite food.  This is a neighborhood gathering, but our "extended neighbors" are also invited, of course.

Naomi and two of the boys are going to be at her uncle's funeral in Canada, but we'll have it.  We gotta eat anyway, so we might as well eat good food with all y'all.

2.)  Women's Second Sunday Book Study is this Sunday at 9:30 am at Starbucks on Detroit in Rocky River.  This will be more of a brainstorming session for what book and why.  FYI, Naomi will be missing, but go ahead and reply all if you're coming.  I won't be there :)

3.) Second Sunday Sacraments Table Gathering is at our house at 11 am.  This is for those who are treating Table Gatherings as your church community.  Or for those who woke up late and go to another church (not ideal, but allowed, eh? :) ).  There will be a time of prayer and Bible reflection from the morning's Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals readings and prayer.  This will be followed by sharing the Lord's Table.  I say "sacraments" in the plural, because, I'm more than happy to see people wanting to be baptized.  We can work that out :).  Just show up if you're coming to this Table Gathering.

Finally (are you still reading?), we have the details re: our Christmas projects:

1. We are going to be donating gifts to the Building Hope in the City's Christmas store. They don't have need for any additional volunteers.  Sharon (hi, Sharon!)said they definitely could use more presents.  See the website below.  You can also bring presents to any of the Table Gatherings.

2. We also organizing, in conjunction with our Rocky River - Library Streets neighborhood Christmas Party planning committee to donate money for supplies and/or actual supplies to the City Mission's overflow shelter.  These kits will also be put together at the Christmas party. The contents of the kits are as follows:  Feminine Hygiene Kits - 4 pads, 4 panty liners; Snack Bags - Capri Sun or Juice Box, package of crackers, fruit snacks; Baby Food Packs: 2 squeeze pouches, container of baby treats (stars, yogurt melts, etc.).  So pick up that stuff or bring a money donation toward that stuff.

Did you make it through this post?  Congrats!

Matt
